Madam Saigon at Millenia Walk

Date of visit 07.06.2013

Vietnamese cuisine is not as popular in Singapore as compared to  Korean, Japanese or Thai food.  Probably due to the fact that Vietnam is not yet a popular travel destination, thus their culture and food may be strange to many Singaporeans.

I had been to Ho Chi Minh twice, the last visit was not too long ago which you may like to read about here:

Ho Chi Minh (part 3)

My visit to Madam Saigon at Millenia Walk was to have a quick dinner before going for Jay Chou's Concert.

Contemporary furnishes in browns and black, zested up by their bold red/yellow menus on the tables.

Sis suggested Saigon Fish Hot Pot as the portion was big enough for the 2 of us.

Condiments.

Saigon Fish Hot Pot S$20.50
The clear soup was slightly sweet and sour, very appetizing and the waitress came to top up more for us ^^
Fresh chunks of fishes were tender, making it super worth the money.
See the lime green slices at the left side of the pot?  Those were banana stem!  They actually have lots of holes on them like sponge which absorbed the taste of the soup base.
Other ingredients inside were bean sprouts, tomatoes, mushrooms, red chilli slices and some chinese parsley.

The hot pot came with a big plate of bee hoon which was filling enough for us.  In fact it's a bit too much carbo for us as we were watching over our weighing scales  -.-

I had never tried anything like this while I was in Vietnam, so I can't comment on whether it is authentic or not.  Hope to visit again to try out other dishes.

As usual, ending this post with their address:
