Japan Day 26 - Home coming

12/04/2023
Home coming

We are going to miss this weather...

Our total amount of luggage.  After the hotel failed to get us an airport transfer, I managed to save ourselves by booking from KLOOK, it's a huge damage of S$140 though.   We were at our last straw even if it's S$540, we would had to surrender.
Car confirmed big enough, chinese driver from China.  I always feel for people who leave home to work overseas, it's never easy.

We arrived early hoping to get done with check-in and have the last meal in Japan.  Couldn't believe it, JAL counter opened only 1.5hrs before the flight.  We grabbed bites from 7-eleven haiz...

Requested for an upgrade to Premium Economy at the counter, it was a good deal for only S$200/pax.  However they took forever to collect payment and issue the boarding tix.

We took the boarding tix, half running to the boarding gate, no time to shop or eat.
This was it:
The seat was occupied with pillow, slippers, ear phone, blanket and a pouch of amenities.
JAL Premium Economy, yay.
Configuration 2-3-3 on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The boys love the extra space and comfort.
The slipper was supper fluffy and comfortable, almost couldn't bare to use it.
The amenities pouch.
Nothing luxurious, just some basic items.
What I loved most would be the capsule seat which could be reclined without affecting the passenger behind.  The only thing to complain would be the seats were too hard for me.
Once it reclined it felt like those seats on those buses to Malaysia, could at least sleep a bit sia.
Assorted nuts and drinks were served prior the main meal.
Food wise I think it's the same as economy.

Rice with curry.

Rice with steamed chicken and lotus root.
Food better than SQ.

It was really spacious, I could get up without having to keep the table.

Bread bun before landing, my kid had cup noodle.
JAL Premium Economy upgrade was worth it for merely $200, which I would do it again without second thoughts.

We landed safely and were finally home after 25 days.
I didn't do any book-keeping for this trip, all in, it roughly cost S$10K+ for the 3 of us.  We stayed in accommodations from ranging S$20/day to S$150/day, we ate from convenient stores, family restaurants and only 1 fine dinning in Kobe.

Time spend with my boys was very precious and being able to see Japan in depth was a very valuable experience for us.  That said, we may or may not have the chance to do it again...

It's a sin trying to discourage people from going overseas trip, it's our money, our life.

Next post:  DA NANG, Vietnam, yay!
