Chongqing China 9D8N - Day 5

Beyond back dated, last autumn was history already.  My new job in the salon was impossible to slack.  I am quite dead when I am home, I had been darting to JB during my off days, so it was difficult to find time to blog.  But I don't want to give my travel diary up.  I know this is going to be my main pass-time when I am finally too old to move...

06/11/2025

So here's our second day at Wulong (武隆).  It's low season due the wet weather.
Look at the luxury camps of Wulong Fairy Mountain Camping Ground (重庆武隆仙女山露营基地逸宿太空舱酒店)

Breakfast was so so only.

One of the worker carrying a rooster in a plastic bag, best idea ever.

Yesterday was too rush, this day we took more pictures.

Ginkgo trees was a bonus as we didn't expect to see them.  Cos nobody mention it on social media whatsoever.
We found a broom, so we took it as a prop haahaahaa...

Bought tickets at the Tourist Center.  The bus took forever to come, we waited like, more than 30mins.  The driver was trying to fill up the bus, it departed when it was about 80% filled.

Website said it's only 10-15mins ride, it's a big lie.  It was about 30mins.  But the journey was gorgeous.

Choo choo train ride around the Fairy Mountain was RMB25.

It really wasn't the best time, the drizzle never stopped.  The most worrying thing would be getting my $260 On Cloud shoes dirty.
We had poncho raincoats.

If it wasn't raining, I would like to run on the grass.

The weather dampens the sheep as while, it's supposed to work as a photo model.

There was practically nothing much to do.  We decided to eat even though we knew the price wouldn't be friendly.

We hid ourselves here.
Had brown sugar beancurd 豆花, it was silky smooth.  Must order!

A few sticks of mala skewers, nice but nothing special.

After the bites, it became even more foggy.

I looked so good here.
I looked very haggard and aged quite a bit ever since I took up the full time job in a salon, was constantly tired.  To be realistic youth cannot turn back already...

One uncivilized China woman saw me taking photo here, took came into the frame as if I was invisible.  Was feeling too disgusted to even confront her, I had to move away to let her have her ugly photos.
With numerous shots, old man managed to have a few that worked out especially after a bit of editing.

If I didn't remember wrongly, this was taken at another deck after moving away from that bitch.

1.75km, we decided that it should be a nice walk on the well constructed pathment.
Most visitors came with tour groups, all by default send onto the choo choo train which send them right to the end point.
We took the road by foot and it felt like Switzerland, it was very serene and relaxing.
Numerous trains drove by, I waved to the passengers a couple of times but nobody waved back, but they got smile lah, just too shy to react lolxx...
Switzerland vibe, misty with perfect apple green grass.
Didn't see any sheeps or cows along the way.
Wonderlust means finding beauty away from the crowd.

We found a rock that looked like a queen's head, not sure if it natural or not.

It's so cold that we saw ice on the pathway, it should soon be snowing.

Big red heart in the middle of nowhere was too cute.
This pic was so perfect.

My grandfather's road.

In reality the road was wavy but some how not obvious in photo.
Okie, this was the best I could capture, the wavy road.
This was a stationery model train for visitors to take photos, but there was barely anyone.

We walked a little more to get to the nearest train stop.

This felt like life, standing in the middle, trying to make a decision to go to which path, but all paths were unknown.
In real it's a struggle, in travel, must smile for photo.

This was so called the "Horse Stable Station".  All food and souvenir stalls were closed.
The train was about to move off the station as there was nobody, I had to scream "等等我们!" running towards it to board lolxx...

The end stop was unavoidable for anyone who visits Fairy Mountain, so all shops/stalls were opened here.
The cold weather was making us hungry for real.
Lots of stalls but all selling the same things.  I would sell pipping hot instant noodles or quick simple sandwich.

Then something caught our eyes, prata in China style.
We bought minced pork "prata" and a steam corn.
We was hoping to get back the taste of steam corn we had back in Vietnam.  But this tasted totally different, mildly sweet, soft and slightly gluey, instead of crunchy.

The bus took more than 30mins before leaving.  The bus tix was less than S$2 I think, but taking a taxi would cost us more than S$20.

Back to the Tourist Center, we went back to the same restaurant for dinner.  We somehow didn't have courage to try other restaurants.
This time we had BBQ which was available only at night.

Sharing carbohydrates, we had a bowl of mala beef noodles.

We had black tofu, lots of skinny beef skewers and green pepper.

The restaurant was quiet at 5pm.

This was the damage RMB113, approx. S$21.25.
Delicious, filling and satisfying.

We couldn't let go the cheap thrill of MiXue ice-cream, it was less than S$1.
We called the hotel, the staff came to drive us back.

Snugged in with beer, TV was on but we were quite distracted.

This is probably the most back dated post ever as my new job is sucking life out of me.  It's very well paid; this while, I bought birdnest, gold accessories, had staycations in JB, had my tooth root canal and crowning done.  On the other hand, I think my life span will shorten lolxx...  I don't know if I should continue to have a difficult life with growing bank account and pride or have a easy life as a pauper with no dignity.

My pool of readers shrink and shrink but my world will continue to be vibrant, limitless and written on my own terms.
