Ootoya Japanese Restaurant @Changi City Point

I had been blogging intensively cos' I had too much over-due drafts.
Had been working hard and enjoying doubly hard as well.
Got so much to share and so much to tell!
Really wish for 48hrs per day then split myself into 3 heads and 6 arms to multi-tasks, heehee....
So, here's another nom nom food post ~~

Changi City Point is one of my favourite hang out.
It's less crowded compared to the malls at Tampines;
with lots of parking lots, lots of restaurants and eateries, and the air con is super cold, hur hur.....

This post is a bit back dated, date of visit was 27 Jan :X
But have to share with you readers cos' there's something special into this......
Chinese New Year decor at the event hall of Changi City Point.

Tarakurozu (Fried Cod Fish with sweet & sour sauce) @S$14.00

Big chunks of cod fish with assorted veg, stir fried in rich flavour.

Initially, I was very happy with the salad which came with the cod fish.
Only to realise that the greens were on top, beneath were shredded cabbage
  I   H.A.T.E   shredded cabbage -____-|||

Bamboo basket presentation.....

peep peep.........

Asari Seiro (Steam rice with clams) @S$11.50
The taste was quite bland but was perfect that I ate it with Tarakurozu.

Katsu Curry @S$18.50
which came in a rojak bowl!  lolxx....

Check out the curry sauce with onions and minced beef!

Grilled beef set @S$24.00

Slightly charred on the outside and incredibly juicy inside!!
It's ridiculously DELICIOUS.  So worth it until I don't know what to say.....

The set came with chawanmushi and miso soup.

Here's another HIGHLIGHT ~

ALL the miso soups I had at other restaurants only have small tofu cube and seaweed, that's it, full-stop.
Their miso soup got generous lots of chicken pieces and veg inside!
And the best part was......
IT'S REFILLABLE!!
When the waitress told us we could refill the soup, we were very surprised!
We actually called her back and asked "The soup can refill is it?"
So silly lor, lolxx......
We asked for 2 refills, although I would really like to have 5, my goodness yummy-licious.
pai seh, hur hur.....

You must be inhuman if you aren't tempted, heehee.....

Penang Culture @Century Square

Slightly over-due, visited Penang Culture before Chinese New Year.
It's a halal eatery previously called Gurney Culture, besides Kenny Rogers.

From the introduction signboard, it's obvious that Penang Culture serves Penang street food.

Grilled Lala with sambal @S$7.90
I love lala (or clams), no matter how it is cooked.
Not much gravy, but as long as they are fresh without fishy smell, I will gobbled up every meat from the shell.
Small portion good enough for 2 pax.

Grilled stingray with sambal @S$7.90
Small portion, but no complains for the price.

Veg with oyster sauce @S$3.00
Not very impressive, but hey, it's coffee shop's price.

Belacan Fried Rice @S$8.90
Thumbs up for this, the belacan chilli was totally satisfying, the fried rice was in perfect texture and taste.
I am gonna come back for this!

King of Chendol @S$5.90
I thought they served the wrong item cos' it looked so different from their menu.

See the pic on their menu and you'll know what I mean.

Hubby told me it looked different cos' the crushed ice melted :(
We accepted it anyway and thank goodness the taste was not affected by the appearance at all.
I am not a fan of chendol, I will not and never ordered chendol.
This was ordered by my hubby and I thought I would just "entertain" him by eating a few spoonful.
And I never know chendol can be this GOOD!!!
The beans were soft and not "powdery" upon chewing;
the QQ green jelly was a divine combination with the beans.
This chendol became KING with a big scoop of durian paste.
You really have to order this to complete your meal at Penang Culture.

Need to compliment a part-time young waitress who served us.
She could memorise their entire menu, gave us recommendations at her fingertips!
The most impressive part was she asked if I like to have plain warm water.
Astonished, I asked how she knew I prefer warm water, she said she saw I brought along a tumbler, so was making a guess.
This attentive waitress had made the whole dinning experience a pleasant one.

Hope you enjoy this review and here's the address:

All about my rebonded caramel hair

My hair had been and is still taken care of by Jean Yip at Whitesands.

Previously was long, soft rebonding with spa perm.
Did a blog post as well, if you hadn't read, click here

Decided to cut them shorter before last year's X'mas cos' my hair was dropping and dropping.
About 3 inches were cropped off.

Sorry, didn't put on make-up and I looked hideous.
Initially the fringe was really funny which fan out like fangs.

Pic taken the next day after rebonding.

It was a good change, so much more easier to manage but I soon became bored.
After Chinese New Year, I wanted to do something drastic.
Everybody had their hair dyed red.  It's nice (and auspicious) no doubt but I don't like the idea of following the crowd.

I showed my hair-stylist Danny this pic of  Tsubasa from one of the magazine ~~

I wasn't thinking when I showed him the picture, it was very impulsive.
I didn't even know if it suits >.<
But I suppose had to 敢敢 give it a try.  Hair bleaching is not like body tattoo, I can always regret and change it.  So yup, here's some pics during the process~~

Last self-shot in black hair, on my way to the salon.

Love my Camomilla bag, hope to buy another one from this brand.

Bleaching in process.....
Was it smelly? Nope
Any scalp irritation?  Nope
I was very comfortable.

Cling wrapped my head cos' I needed a leak to the wash room.

One time bleach to achieve this color.

 金毛狮王 lolxx...

Done!

Not many people likes it.  They say make me look shallow, yellow and old.
Heck, it's not as if I am going to have this color for the rest of my life.
You may continue to love your boring beautiful black hair for the rest of your life, don't bother me then.

Another common question people like to ask - is it very drying?
Yes, but only very slightly.  After hair conditioning, is silky smooth like before.
Was advised by the salon to do hair masks diligently and wash hair with cold water.
I applied leave-on conditioner during the day for further moisture too.

I must be the only blogger who doesn't have hair sponsors.  This is not a sponsored post, I paid through my nose for the above rebond and bleach, fml.  What's the damage to my pocket, I really don't know.  Actually bought a package of 5 sessions of perm/rebond/color/treatment and I can't remember how much I paid for the it.

Still not sure of what to do with it when the black roots starts to show, any suggestions?
