8 days in Sydney Day 1

Prologue:

I arrived home from Bali on 31 May.  G-Dragon Sydney concert fan-sales opened on 2 Jun, which my friend and I decided to try.  We had more than 6 heart-breaking failed attempts for the pass 3 weeks throughout Macau, KL, Hongkong, Taiwan and where else I forgotten.  So we were like just try without pinning hopes.  And guess what, I gotten 2 VIP tix for 3 Jul.  I was wailing hysterically, literally trembling, Luis came to the rescue to complete the transaction.  I couldn't believe it.

Meant I flew again in less than a month's time...  It's not even intended but it happened.

After which was a enthusiastic series of looking for flights and hunting of accommodations.  I let my concert buddy who could only be with me for 4 days to chose whatever she was comfortable with as long as it was still within the means of my shallow pockets.

Despite of being so broke after my Indonesia trip, I decided to just dive in, taking the opportunity to explore Sydney on my first visit making the air tix worth it.  Wanted a 7 days, but the flight was $100 more on the 7th day than the 8th day.  In another words, 7 days or 8 days in Sydney indent the same damage, if I put S$100 into 8th day's accommodation instead of 7th day's flight.

Old man and I had a big fight before the trip (cold war lasted for 4 months, we patched back already), I literally flew off with a broken heart.

I cried a lot over spilled milk, but we were going for G-Dragon's concert in Sydney, very much a healing trip for me...

10am flight departing from T1.  I think it was my first time flying with a friend.
I am either solo or with family members.

Gf ate Chatterbox chicken rice.

I had toast and eggs.

I was finally going to see him in real person.

Surprise!  We were not informed that we were going to board a Pokemon plane.

Despite of being overweight, I was still consider petite, so I snugged in comfortably.

I brought IKEA's daisy cushion.

I had Psyduck with me throughout the flight, it was so so so cute.

Pre-ordered food.

Laksa without beansprouts was so good.

There was a 40mins to 1hr of flight delay due to bad weather.  Upon touched down we found out about the "Bomb cyclone" in Sydney.
We were still inside the airport, had no idea of the situation outside.

We were hungry, found Mcdonald's in the airport.  Gf wanted to ta bao, I told her I wanted to eat while it's hot, I won lolxx...
Our first meal in Sydney.
The crispy onions were very spicy, that kind that would make you cry.

Stepping out was... wow.   Strong wind blowing at all directions with rain.  For once I was glad to be over weight, any lighter I would had been gone with the wind.  What we didn't know was the airport closed at 11pm, the airport was emptied when we were out.
The weather was so bad, when our Uber arrived, it was a hefty charge of S$100, could had been cheaper if I didn't insist on eating-in and walked out earlier.
There were mini floods here and there but arrived safely.

Our Uber dropped us outside the carpark with shelter.
Gf ran to the entrance of the building but not able to get in.  She finally did by tagging other tenants.  The key was in the mailbox, she was extremely cute, didn't know how to open the mailbox.  When I arrived, I just flipped the lid up and gotten the key.  My poor girl did her best, I tried to cheer her up.

Drama in the wind took us about an hour to finally get into our Airbnb lolxx...
The spacious apartment was easily 100sqm from my visual judgement.  We had spend time together in the living room and kitchen.

Then during rest time we had our own bedrooms and washrooms.

The laundry area was great, the only complain would be the dryer was too high for me to reach.

I thought I would love this corner but I ended up at the dinning table most of the time spending time with gf and loading my photos.

And this apartment was less than 10mins walk to the concert venue.  Worth the money as we saved so much time (and energy) without travelling after the concert.

Next day, we were typical tourists at Circular Quay and Sydney Opera House.
