Day 8 Bangkok, Thailand

 05/10/2023

Slept till late morning was the privilege of free & easy travels.
Hotel's shuttle tuk tuk was very nice, drove us to Convent Road for this stall called Kuay Teow Khae.
Kid sis was freaked out, so freaked out that she almost wanted to leave, then decided to pray for strong stomach (it wasn't funny at that point of time), I didn't know she don't eat street food.

I respect individual's choice, for me, when I travel, I am curious and open to try everything from mid-range restaurants, supermarket/convenient stores to street food, especially when this was recommended by Migrationology (food vlogger) and Drew Binsky (travel vlogger).
So when you travel what's your choice of food?  Do you stay away from street vendors with fear for weak tummys?  Do you stick to food courts and convenience stores to save money for something else? Or you love to splurge on restaurants and buffets?

Back to Kuay Teow Khae, the noodle texture was really springy, tasted delicious but totally different from Singapore/Malaysia.  It's so good that I won't mind to come back for it the next time.

Char siew and roast pork rice was good, but I think noodles would be the thing you should come for.

After this satisfying brunch we walked to Silom Station.
Mobile food vendors we saw along the way.

The youngsters went to thrift stores.
Our children grown up liao.

Were we in Bangkok or Japan?

Small road of center Bangkok.

Sis and I went into Central World Mall and got happily stuck inside for many hours.  The mall was having coffee fair, with many booths selling different kinds of coffee with all sorts of promotions.  Some vendors were very generous, gave out lots of samples.
This had very special orange with black coffee, we got (about) 200ml sample!  We had at least 3 full cups from other vendors.   At the end it was too irresistible, we bought 3 boxes of capsules each waahaahaaa...

I bought a set of FILA apparel, best buy ever, love the material to the core.

Cute Nike shoe bag, no one at home wanted this, so had to give it a miss.
Love the Adidas here.
In Singapore, they only bring in the most expensive items, or the cheapest off season items.  I find that Bangkok and Japan carries a lot more nice, new and affordable stuffs.

Addidas do really good sliders.  The store happened to have discount promotion, plus tax free, our purchases became super worth it.
Sis bought the grey pair of "Thanos" slider for nephew, I bought a pair of bear looking sliders, had been wearing it very often but I didn't have a pic of them heehee...

The traffic towards evening time.

Always passed by this local ferry station but never had a chance to try.

Too happy in Central World, spend too much time, then we were left with 2hrs in Platinum Mall.  Bought 5pcs of Old Skull t-shirts for Luis, a t-shirt for old man and a blouse for myself (never worn till now, can keep till CNY liao lolxx...)

I must be out of my mind, bought half a dozen of tissue here.  Got carton prints one, sibei cute de.
Our route was Central World - Platinum Mall - Baiyoke Sky, in one straight line.

We booked buffet dinner through KLOOK which came with entry to the viewing deck.
The place was in need of upgrading.

Grilled river prawns or giant prawns whatever you called them.

Cooked food.

Cooks in stations wearing face masks.

Cold seafood.

Beef noodles station.

Oysters!!

Another grilled prawns station.
More prawns.

Soufle pancakes were very fluffy and yummy.

Start off with cold dishes first.  If you start with hot food, your palate wouldn't be able to taste cold dishes which were lighter.
I always like to look at how people take their food, which tells a lot about the person.  Some people carries LV but still a peasant.
Most food were nice but no wow factor.

Pan seared salmon was nice.

Steam seafood with omelette and glass noodles.

Complimentary coconut from the floor manager.
The coconut flesh was very very sweet and nice.

Colorful cakes, wished I could eat everything but no stomach space already.

Soufle pan cake, hoohoohoo...
Supposed to see the sunset but it was too cloudy.

Heehee...

We gotten to see the day view and night view.

Smiling from 81 storey.

Kinda reminded us of Tokyo's night view.

The rotating deck had fence around, we felt caged.  Nice scenery photos could be taken
easily as you can see metals were wide apart.
But selfies would be nay.

Looking at the traffic jam from here was fun, but not fun if we were in the jam heehee...

Darren and I went for cheap foot massage while the other girls headed to Big C first.
The foot massage parlour had fish spa.  These legs belonged to an ang mo.  It's either the fishes were very hungry or the ang mo feet very dirty.
The fishes were gross looking like house lizards, I was laughing non-stop and he was probably pissed with me (or he was born with stuck up face?).  But there's nothing he could do cos we were inside the parlour, while the fish tank and him were outside, with a glass panel separated us.
Nothing could save my legs sia, but got massage better than none.

I must had taken this pic earlier on.  By the time we went in was around 8 or 9pm.  Big C closed at mid night.
People buying like no tomorrow here.
My entire family and clan is consistently battling with fats, so these were about all.

Nothing much the next day, it's flying back day.  AirAsia finally did what they absolutely had to, mini flare of 1hr flight delay + change of boarding gate without announcement.  Nothing major, we landed home safely.

I think I can finish my job before Xmas heehee... yay!  Thanks for reading.
