Vietnam Day 3 - Da Nang

 08/07/2023

I missed this view, why is Da Nang's beach so beautiful omg...
View from the hotel's small window.
Not too interested with hotel's buffet breakfast, but cos hubby needed heavy breakfast, had to make do.

After breakfast was unique experience for Vietnamese hair wash service.

The hair wash was not just simple hair wash, it's like a grooming session.  They washed and scrubbed feet, requested them not to cut my nails.

The best part was removing ear wax.  I stayed very very still lolxx...
My shit, hubby had triple the amount.

Hubby had more service than me, I obviously don't have beard/moustach.  But I had a little more massage.
I didn't had cucumber slices face mask cos I had make-up on.

He aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarh... I died laughing.

Finally hair wash at the last part.
The environment was brightly lit, not the sleazy kind.

Any how blow dry, done.

Here's the address.

Next was to a mall called VinMart to escape from the heat, the heat really no joke...

Bought a lot from the supermarket, we felt safer with the fixed price.
Bought a carton of cup noodles.

Went round looking for shower gel, cos the hotel's couldn't make it.

Looked around, food was cheaper.

Packet noodles was like less than S$1+.
Fried chicken was S$1+ too.
Pho was around S$2.
Sitting area in the supermarket.

Couldn't resist and bought 1kg of brown rice lolxx...

Their fresh seafood.

Pork ribs within S$5.

Supermarket loots + MLB hats.

The guide brought us to a seafood restaurant which we felt it was too expensive (same price as Singapore), we left.  He must be kinda pissed and "dumped" us in this Pho place.
The taste was ok but was expecting more.  Should had just ate at the supermarket for half the price.

Next was this Pink Church near Han Market.
This was a joke, please do not waste your time to come for this, it's very small with literally no historical value.

The Han Market was 2mins walk.

1st level selling local coffee, dried food and tibits.  Every stall sells almost the same items, so once you seen 3 stalls, meant you seen everything.
2nd floor sells clothes, shoes, hats and bags.  Old man bought a bucket hat for S$3, I bought 2 sets of elephant shorts and singlet for $7 each set.
The MUST BUY would be the cashew nuts.  They had the best cashew nuts we ever eaten in our whole life.  It's not as hard, easy to chew, addictive to chew I would say and the taste was very nice.  Those cashew nuts we had eaten during CNY were rubbish lor.

We also explored around the market.
Found this very local food stall and bought a veg and meat skewer to try, crazy yummy.
I didn't have the address but it's across a small road next to Han Market.

Interesting shop selling all sorts of floats and life jackets.

I bought a pack of local rojak for less than S$1.  The lady didn't speak English, but all the sign language worked.  The whole process with old man stood behind me like a child, I also don't know what was he scared off.
Fruits were so fresh with spices so spicy and sour.

Battery flat, popped into a cafe.
1st floor bo bang, all were at the 2nd floor, lazing and some sleeping.

Fruit juice for old man.

Coconut coffee for me.
Not the cheapest but affordable for Singaporeans with strong currency.

It was very nice to stroll along Han River.
Could see Dragon bridge far away.
Scenery was very nice here.

When time was near for the Fireworks Show, the guide picked us up to the jetty.

The jetty was very busy with many sales booths.

Ferry ticket was about S$45 each for fireworks view.  Without fireworks, the normal cruise was about S$6 only.

Boarding the small ferry, I think we were the only tourists, the rest were locals.
I would prefer a luxurious cruise, but during that time I couldn't find any.
Drinks and food menu.

The sunset was like magic, it was crazy beautiful.

The ferry took forever to move.  But when it finally did, we were still bored to death.  There were no other entertainment and then, we saw a luxurious cruise called Poseidon, haiz...  They were having live music and I saw fine dinning set ups.  Then I looked at our local ferry, damn sad...

Here's Hàn River bridge (Cầu Sông Hàn).
It's sibei swee...  Never expect to see such beautiful night view.  Da Nang was full of surprises.

Pic of another local ferry, ours looked about the same.

Poseidon cruise...
Why didn't I find out about them haiz...

Our dinner on board, some shredded chicken with rice.

Noodle soup with some meat slices and fish cake.

We could see the water fountain from our ferry, and that's actually where the seats were for audience on land.  The price was about the same.  Choose the view the fireworks from ferry so that we didn't have to deal with the crowd at the end of the show.

Police boat patrolling.

The fireworks was about 50mins to an hour with a 15mins break in between.

Super enjoyable.  You may plan your trip to Da Nang between June and July for their Fireworks Festival.  For year 2023, it was held for 5days, the show we had was the last day.  You may have to keep a look out for year 2024.

Back to the jetty after 3 hours.
Our guide was already waiting, we were send back to our hotel, all smooth.

Next day, the guide shouldn't had but he arranged Ba Na Hills for us, urrrggg..... it was so crowded on a Sunday.
Anyway the hill resort was still beautiful and way better than Genting, you will see on the next post.  Thank you for popping by.
