Japan Day 11 - Kanazawa

 28/03/2023
Kanazawa

We were leaving ibis Budget Osaka Umeda after 5 nights stay. Bought 1100yen breakfast in the hotel.
Everything was very basic.
Didn't see an egg.
Breakfast which was good enough to last till late noon.
Before leaving, we arranged our luggage to be send to Tokyo.  Each piece was around S$15.
Bullet train from Osaka to Kanazawa was S$80, I wanna cry lolxx...
We had a comfortable 2.5hrs ride.
Toilet in the train.

Not exactly hungry, we went into a skewer bar.
Not the cheapest but everything was great.

There was a small supermarket in the station.
Seafood and beef which are very expensive in Singapore are normal daily items here.
Japan also had Economical rice counter!
Wedges?!?

Outside Kanazawa Station.

Motenashi (Welcome) Dome

Pic taken in the bus ticket office.  Bus tix to Shirakawa-go were sold out on the date we want.  After some brain storming, we were left with a 1.5hrs trip on our last day in Kanazawa.  Bus tix sold out, couldn't believe it...  So I would recommend you guys to buy bus tix inadvance online.

Finally, the icon of Kanazawa, the wooden gate "Tsuzumi-mon," which symbolizes a traditional Japanese instrument called tsuzumi (hand drums).

Another side (back side) of Kanazawa Station.

Motenashi (Welcome) Dome from outisde.

We had a fright when we thought our hotel was in this small run down building.
Ok, it was the taller building behind.

R&B Hotel Kanazawa Station Nishiguchi (long hotel name again)
This was a business hotel cos we saw many business men in suit checking in.
A bit old fashion looking but very clean.

Nice toilet, I hate it if it's too small.
Drank from the tap some times when I run out of mineral water.
Love the bed, but like the rest of the accommodations we had been, the pillow was too soft and too small.
Waaahaaahaaa... manual light adjust.

I wished the table was bigger and I prefer a chair than a stool to work on my lappie.
My 2 kids room for 2 nights was S$162 and mine was S$91, from booking.com.

A bit cold... Darren too lazy to go out for dinner.  Luis also lazy but he accompanied me to ta bao.

Supposed to buy from convenient shop but attracted by this restaurant.
Went in to ta bao.  The staffs spoke chinese (they were from China), thank goodness!

Bought gyoza with cheese, mapo tofu, fried rice, stir fried beef with cabbage.
What a damage hur hur... but everything taste not bad.

Day 12, we explore more of Kanazawa and will have lots of nice pics to share, thank you for reading!
