Christmas Dinner with OMY Bloggers at Sushi Teh

*Sponsored

Last Thursday, I was invited to a Christmas Dinner together with 13 lovely omy.sg bloggers; all females except for Alvin from OMY's marketing department.

I had visited other branches but was my first time to Sushi Tei at Paragon.

Was wearing ~~
Black top - Uniglo
Polka dot skirt - BKK
Bling collar & fringe boots - TaoBao

Long, long queue outside Sushi Tei Restaurant at 7.30pm on a weekday!
Can't imagine during weekends.... gosh.

It was a relieve that we didn't need to join the queue, cos' we are OMY BLOGGERS!!!
Feel so privileged, heeheeheee....
Alvin walked straight into Sushi Tei, like a boss and we followed behind him.
It must had been quite a sight when the group of us made our entrance,  lolxx.....

Posh and elegant ambience of Paragon's Sushi Tei.

Sushi Tei had specially prepared a menu for us ^.^

The first dish that starts the dinner was Sashimi Salad (S$9)
We tried 3 types of dressing - Wafu, Sesame and Sushi Tei's House Dressing.
The salad comes with generous chunks of salmon and tuna with some tako (octopus).  I am actually very picky on salads and usually takes them without or with little dressing.  Most of the ladies vote Sesame Dressing as their favourite.  Personally I prefer different blends of greens for more texture, so this salad was too "white" for my liking.

Sashimi Moriwase -Asama (S$30)
A sashimi plate consist of bluefin tuna, salmon and yellow-tail
This serving made this dinner totally worth it!  While the tuna and salmon were fresh as if they just jumped out of the ocean onto our table, the yellow-tail was from heaven!  The sensation of the yellow-tail in my mouth was so shiok!  Another blogger who wasn't a sashimi fan took a small bite try.   But wasn't her liking, so I took her piece off her plate.  She was cute max and reminded me got her saliva.  I don't care! I just want her YELLOW-TAIL SASHIMI!!!  So I ate her piece of yellow-tail sashimi with her saliva, heeheeheeee.........  it was still yummy :P

Kani Mentai Mayo Roll (S$8)
Deep fried crab meat sushi with mentai mayo
This dish is probably suitable for everybody, especially for those who aren't too keen on raw sashimi.  The rich mentai mayo had made this sushi taste like a dessert.  Finely shredded fried carrot blended perfectly with mentai mayo in terms of taste and had enhance the presentation as well as.

Asari Butter (S$14)
Asari clams sauteed with butter and soya sauce
Most clam dishes I had were with sambal, spiciness is need to get rid of fishy smell in clams.  So when this bowl of clams was presented with milky sauce I didn't pin high hopes.  But my goodness, I was WRONG!  The clams were soft and juicy soaked in the butter and soya sauce gravy.  The taste was surprising subtle with pleasant aroma.  I was very tempted to drink up the whole bowl of gravy, but was too pai seh to do so, heehee.......

Hanasaki Ika Tempura (S$6)
Squid with smelt roe tempura
Squid can get really tough if over-cooked, so this dish really needed good control of oil temperature and  cooking time. Served with mayonnaise, this plate of shredded squid with tempura was a joy to chew into, the chef did it right, thumbs up!

Homemade Meat Gyoza (S$6)
Homemade pork and chicken dumpling

Richness and flavour of meat enclosed in dumpling, all time favourite.

That's Jolene and an unglam pic of "tam chiak" me >.<
Photographer was Ms Rui Long of omy.sg

Kaisen Chankonabe (S$28)
Traditional sumo hot pot with yellow-tail, scallop, salmon, prawn and assorted vegetables and tofu
3 choice of soup base - Shoyu, Miso, Spicy
We had miso as below pic.

This hot pot is definitely great for rainy season like now but needs more than 3 pax to share.

Mini Golden Roll (S$11)
Mango, king prawn sushi roll
I had tried this a couple of times and it's never disappointing.  Delicious as ever :))

Lastly sweet cold desserts which I love and hate.
I thought the white balls in packets were mochi, but were coffee ice-cream, very rich and creamy in taste.

These ice balls were like candies but so cold that one ball was enough to numb my mouth all the way to my brain, lolxx.......

Ice-cream waffle, nice ^.^

Last but not least a group photo!
