2Degree Ice Art and Ice Bar

Date of visit: 01.01.2014

We celebrated the first day of 2014 in coldness at 2Degree Ice Art :D

My sis had purchased the tickets on one of those online deals, so I am not sure what offer she managed to catch.
  But for ticket price, you may click HERE.

Walked into the entrance, there's a queue for rental of down jackets and gloves are given at S$5.
Hadn't keep or wash our winter wear from Beijing, we 顺便 brought our own and saved $20 ($5 X 4pax)!

Once all dressed up, the attendant opened the fridge door for us to enter.  As soon as we stepped in, we were in an icy world away from Singapore.

Colorful lights were being shone onto ice sculptures.  It became colder as we stayed longer, colder than expected, but we were all padded up.  Not going to be long winded wordy this time, so just sit back and scroll down to enjoy the pics

As you can see from this pic, the floor is carpeted, no worries of slipperiness.

There's a small play area with 2 small slides and a bigger one for bumper slide down.

That's me wriggling down instead of sliding down, there was too much friction between my butt and the slide somehow >.<

After this visit, le hubby was very determined to go Harbin -___-

The exit leads to a cafeteria which I totally forgotten to take pics.  Beverages and some snacks were sold.  I dumped my hubby and kids there to munch curry chicken with bread (about S$5) while dragon girl, my kid sis and I went to the Ice Bar.

The Ice Bar is located away from the Ice Art, not far, just 2 mins walk.  The thing was, I was too lazy to take off my jacket cos' it has got more than 10 buttons >.<  So I ran my way under the sun passing the car park with many eyes looking at me.  I nearly cooked myself alive under our 30 degree weather.  Dragon girl and my sis were laughing like mad, they said it was a comical sight that my bunny ears were jumping as I ran, oh gosh........

Entrance to the Ice Bar is free but you have a purchase a drink to enter.

Grey down jackets are free for loan too.  And no, you can't take them to the Ice Art ok lolxx....

Some may prefer to be less chill at their lounge area.

It's not too big inside, probably with 30 seats or so.

These are ice mugs, heeheeeheee......  It's S$3 each, we bought 2 to share and the beer was S$15 each mug.

He poured beer and left asap, lolxx..

We were afraid that our lips might kena stuck on the ice mug, so we asked for straws.

But drinking with straw just made me a bit drunk.

Nevertheless, I made it straight to smash the ice mug.  Thank you dragon pal who took this video for us ^.^

As you can see, some people 没有吃饭, didn't managed to smash their ice mugs.  We smashed hard until cui cui ok!  Waaahaaahaa....... ok, I sound so silly >.<

Not too bad a place to visit to spend CNY holiday and to experience winter although the place is not exactly big.  Do dress with sensibly with pants or leggings and covered shoes to enjoy fully.  I saw a few heroes wore slippers and fearless ladies wore skirts/shorts with bare legs, what's wrong these people I wonder lolxx....

Day 5 Highlight

TianJin 天津

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Had breakfast with my eye half close at 7am.
I missed the oatmeal porridge very very much now T____T
First stop was at 同仁堂 Tong Ren Tang Medical.
 We bought a pack of inexpensive powder 枇杷, mixed with water to drink.  That saved our dry and sore throats else we might fall sick.  We finished the whole box the next day and didn't take pic of it >.<
Of course, what they tried to sell was those hundred dollars medicine.  Mererly took my pulse and could diagnosed my gastric problem.  I knew my body so............
Here's my S$100++ medication for my weak gastric T_______T
Travelling toward TianJin 天津.
Reached this place for lunch and bought tibits.
I only remembered I bought dried baby abalone to brew soup, other tibits were all eaten up long before this blog post is done.  Couldn't remember what we bought, cos' they weren't expensive stuffs.
Lunch.
天津狗不理包子 TianJin Meat Bun (middle pic) was nothing impressive at all.
Here's TianJin's Fifth Avenue 天津五大道 with many horse carriages waiting for tourists.
This red carriage so pretty!
On the go..........
The local female guide obviously not in her best mood, introduced the buildings in monotone.  Who and which famous person stayed in this and that mansion, blah blah blah, I totally catch no ball.
As soon as we got off the carriage the male horse pee a big pool of urine >.<   First time see horse pee, it was gushhhhhhhh............ like my kitchen tap in full blast!   It was more fascinating than the carriage ride lolxx.....
After the care giver splashed the urine away, I stood beside it to take a pic.  Hubby kept asking me to stand closer, but I was afraid it might bite me >.< so yeah, made do with this (distant).
We bought hard liquor along to keep ourselves warm.  I think it's Hennessy inside.
Walk walk at JinMen Guli 津门故里
It's an ancient cultural street, obviously opened for tourist, selling traditional handicrafts, some souvenirs.  Managed to get a book of  gu zheng 古筝music scores for my sis!  Other than that, nothing much already.
This tank was outside JinMen Guli 津门故里, not sure if it's real or for decor.
Unique clock became a land mark near the bullet train station.
Took pic cos' I like the botak trees.
Our tour guide put us in KFC while he went to buy bullet train tickets for us to return to Beijing.
He took like forever till the sky turned dark.  He came back apologised profusely that he forgotten to buy his own ticket and queued again, lolxx..... no biggie actually.
So here's what we saw once entered into Tianjin's bullet train station.
Took the escalator up and there's this very big painting on the entire ceiling.  Damn beautiful but my camera cannot capture everything, so this a portion of it.
The station is HUGE like an airport.
Perk of being in tour group, we were given priority to enter first.  So quick quick took pic with the bullet train.
Very much like air plane.
Lots of leg space and the seats can be declined.
The fastest speed it went was 290km/h
It was 3°C that evening.
Bought this little key chain cum torch light on board as souvenir RMB10.
Sun set was beautiful when we were back to Beijing.
It's dry and cold (of course since it's winter), but the sky was blue and clear, we did not see any air pollution whatsoever.   We must be so lucky I guess.
Dinner.
It was a dumpling feast.
Not bad, but fillings too stingy.
Veg with egg yolk fillings, refreshing, ate plenty without feeling guilty.
3 more days to cover, I am relieve, heehee....  Day 6 was about Chengde 承德 and we finally made to 海底捞 hotpot in China!!
