Punggol Promenade Riverside Walk

Date of visit: 27.07.13

If you had been following my blog, you will know that at this rate we are going, we will be able to cover all the major natural/man-made parks around Singapore before end of 2013, lolxx....
These walks burns away a bit of calories I hope, heehee....

Walking through the greens, we had a surprise "discovery" from visiting this park.  Read on....
We were there at around 5pm, by dinner time, no more parking slots, lolxx..
Most people are just interested in food but not the park I would say, heehee....

This is a Hong Kong eatery which we tried.  Pretty decent, will do a separate blog post.

This sells local dishes, nasi lemak, noodles, economical western chops etc..

This is a bar cum western outdoor restaurant.

Ya,...... everybody likes Uncle Leong Seafood, haven't got a chance to try yet, need to 招兵买马 to get more pax to form a big table.  If only hubby and me, a bit lame, cannot order much dishes also :/

Prawning ponds with blasting of electric fans all over.

There were a few BBQ pits at the side where the patrons, cook their prawns fresh from their catch.
The pits are at the right hand corner of the below photo (the spot with black tent).

I was told that the prawns can be brought over to Uncle Leong Seafood as well, to cook them of course!
The yellow chairs that you are seeing below are their out-door seatings.

From the red color point, we covered the entire path at right side in this map.

Along the Riverside Walk...

The path way was prefect for cycling or jogging.

The water was as clear as mirror...

This bridge leads to Lorong Halus Wetland which was very quiet on that day.

A scenic shot taken from the bridge, can't tell this is Singapore right?
The calming effect here was much much, very much better than our pathetic beaches.

The water dam looked so far away from where we stood, but we walked passed it on another visit.

Lorong Halus Wetland, a small hall with some educational boards.

Lots of fish.

Behind the hall was this pond with some water lilies.

I consider these a bonus with our horribly warm weather.

Just when we were admiring the water lilies, came suddenly loud roamings from the sky.
We saw a Fighter Aircraft flew above our heads with a 45 degrees turn!
Hubby told me it's part of NDP rehearsal.  With that, 4 other planes followed by.
Below is a lousy video that probably nobody will appreciate, but I just have to load it here for my own remembrance.

Knowing that we won't get any NDP tickets (year after year), we decided to come back this same spot to watch the Fighters again ^^  Yup, that's our "accidential discovery" which we suppose it's the best and closest spot we can see the Fighter aircrafts.

After that, we walked back to the main land, stopped at this junction, we didn't go either way cos' time was running out.

But we did cover these 2 areas on another day which was National Day.  So keep a look out for my next blog post if you are interested.

A sea of mimosa

Never seen so much mimosa in my life, heehee...

Call me childish, but I get a mini thrill when a leaf is closed, haahaahaa....

This is a point of the Punggol Waterway, which leads all the way where the end or start cannot be seen from here.

Punggol Waterway bench mark, took pic, made a u-turn and ended our day out.

On National Day itself, we walked from Punggol Waterway to Punggol Promenade and finally back to Punggol Riverside.  We started from 2.30pm to 6.00pm, legs nearly broke.  Pictures I had captured was more than just greens and river, in the mist of editing them hope to post them up soon ^^
