Good cooling weather.
Left hotel at 7.30am to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, package bought from the hotel. This mini bus was so much more comfortable than the one we had to Chiang Rai.
We stopped over at a huge 7-eleven. There was also a chap chye rice stall, but was too heavy for breakfast.
7-eleven was heaven in Thailand.
I had pipping hot ham and cheese toast.
After 1hr, we left our mini bus to take this pick-up into the jungle.
It was a nice bumpy ride.
We reached the place which looked like a school canteen with a few resident cats roaming freely.
We changed into their tribal shirt and the cats' claws always got stuck to the fabric, so I stopped carrying the cats.
We were given an orientation about the place and some facts about the elephants.
Initially the organization adopted 3 elephants and this was how their cute logo came about.
While we still listening to the briefing, we suddenly heard, pounding sounds. They got louder and louder and followed by voices of the elephants. They galloped into the tent making the most majestic appearance, pity that I didn't video it cos I was too stunned!
We had fun feeding them, putting food right into their mouths was a wet and ticklish experience!
They eat a lot, non-stop, a lot.
So fun being so close to these gentle giants.

A mother elephant and a new born were kept together separated from the rest.
Another resident cat, so pretty.
Had a hands-on session to prepare food for the elephants. I stood aside and watched nia lolxx...
They were giving rice, bamboo leaves, bananas and some vitamin grains a good mix.
Darren pounding to make a smooth dough (just kidding).
They shaped the food into balls and put them into their mouths, couldn't give it to their nose, would all mashed up, heehee...
We were the only chinese and Singaporeans who went down the bath the elephants. The few Taiwanese stood at the river to watch.
We had a group photo in the river waahaahaa...
Where was I wtf...
After the elephants were all nice and clean, we were told to put mud on them.

Apparently sand/mud it's like sunblock to the elephants, although we undo what we did lolxx...
We also had mud on ourselves.
Mud felt very cold and smooth waahaahaa...
We had elephant sketch on our backs.
We had a quick shower, then almost meat-less simple lunch was provided.
It was noon when we were back to our hotel. We walked to this Home Spa which was near our hotel.
Then we took a 5mins walk to Mae Kha River.
The place was not big, so it might not be worth it to make a special trip down. We were there around 4pm, it was very quiet, with some small restaurants and stalls preparing to open.
The tranquil little place soothed our mind, very relaxing.
We shared ice cream.
We snailed walked up and down along the river, took less than an hour.
We even walked a dog, then it got distracted by a cat and left us lolxx...
Running out of things to do, we decided to go Central Festive Mall.
KFC Cafe which I regretted not trying.
Went straight to the food court.
Exciting.
Had pork leg rice + otah.
Darren had basil minced chicken.
Fried tofu, not nice.
Darren found gashpon machines, it was his lucky day. He gotten what he wanted!
I finally found a hair salon to get my hair washed.
Nice! The wash and blow was about S$13.
To our surprise!
Sat down for a while for coffee.
That was our last night in Chiang Mai.
The next day we took a domestic flight to Bangkok. I had been to Bangkok many times, but each time we did different things, visited different places and ate different food.
We were not in Siam Paragon when the horrifying gunshot incident happened, else we could be dead.
