Mauritius/Dubai 9D8N - Day 6

22/05/2024

It was only at this that I realised 6 days in Mauritius wasn't enough.   Was sad to leave.
Although LUX Le Morne wasn't the most luxurious resort, but it totally changed my concept from "Resorts are a waste money" to "Resorts are so worth it".
Maybe just one more day, just one more day here, haiz...
It was so beautiful and peaceful here.
I actually ta bao some for Darren.  It's impossible for me to eat so much pastry lolxx...
Breakfast with stunning sea view.  You wouldn't know it's soul healing effect unless you were here...
My cute little monkey came to be our chauffeur.

I took some pics of Mauritius's road, nothing in particular, just want to remember how this country looked like...

Then we had this oil truck in front of us, haahaahaa...
Blue sky + green hill, normal scene in Mauritius, ultimate beauty for me.
What I have now from my house's balcony is a carpark + grey sky.

Super U supermarket.
It was around 9am, just opened, very quiet.

These wood plates were made in China, but was only around S$3.  It's more than double the price in Singapore, so I bought some, couldn't resist wooden cutlery.

Shower gel that looked like milk.

We tugged back 20 small packets of local peanuts, cleared the shelve, heehee...

Didn't see these in Singapore, so bought them for fun, still haven't use yet so don't know how's like.

Fresh bakes were surprisingly cheap.  A small baguette bun was about S$0.20, a long loaf was less than S$1.00.
We spend about an hour, wanted to make it quick so that we could head back to enjoy the resort, every min counts...

Outside the supermarket were some shops.  There was QuickSilver.   I think they are no longer in Singapore.
Not much choices but this was my last chance to get Dodo birds.
Gotten 3 t-shirts (material was very good after wash) around S$29/each, GWP a Dodo bird power bank.
The compound had nice public washrooms.
Spotless clean.
Going back to the carpark.
Old man behind with the grumpiest face.  Why all old men looked like that de?

Goodbye to this nice local place for last min shopping.

Drove pass a salt factory.

Old man's 2nd drive in overseas.  First was at Abu Dhabi.  He drives like god in Singapore but previously didn't pick up the courage to drive overseas.
I hope he gained enough confidence and enjoy driving in overseas.

I wore the Dodo bird straight away.

Passed by La Gaulette Police Station which looked like a residential if there wasn't a sign board.

Our last 2 hours in LUX Le Morne, I couldn't bare to leave.

The staff prepared fruits and champagne in our room.  I knew they were being extra nice becos we were Darren's parents.
I walked into a postcard and I didn't want to walk out.
So glad that I bought this bracelet at Port Louis.
More pics of the resort.

Son help me to take photos of their pool.
Now, all these photo were precious memories of this paradise.  Darren drove us to the airport for our noon flight.

Love the arrival chop with Dodo bird and Mauritius Island, this day we chopped for departure...
A little sad to leave my son and this little African island, yet at the same time very excited heading to Dubai.

My sis bought this rum in glass Dodo.

Beautiful pic of Le Morne mountain in the airport.

We had mid wings from Burger King before boarding cos the smell was filled in the air of the entire lounge area lolxx...  We just die die had to eat the wings and it was incredibly delicious waahaahaa...

6hrs flight on Emirates economy.  Food was good, flight was comfortable though my heart was lemming for it's biz class.
If we were to upgrade, just for this leg would be around S$1400, equivalent to my budget of 10 days tour to Indonesia/Vietnam.

Around 11pm, we landed safely, my playground - Dubai.

While you are reading this, my son's 5 months internship in Mauritius is ending soon and will be back home first week of Aug!  I am trying to look for a job, may luck and opportunities be on my way...
