Mauritius/Dubai 9D8N - Day 4

 20/05/2024

Checking out Blue Pearl Resort.
Only at this point Darren said we could go LUX Le Morne to have breakfast.  He should had said earlier, anyway we droved in and it was difficult to leave.
Was very excited, finally able to see Darren's work place!
Mountain tortoise, I waaaaaaaaaaa....... BEAUTIFUL sia!!!

Although check-in time was 2 or 3pm, we had welcome drinks and could had breakfast.
Darren made a "grand" entrance with his colleagues all came up to him and all came to say hi to us.

After few days of homecooked breakfast, finally we were having decent international buffet breakfast, heeheehee...

Awesome.  Kinda running out of time but wasn't able to eat any faster lolxx... too enjoyable.

The weather was so beautiful and perfect, almost wanted to just lepak at the beach and forego all the itinerary for the rest of the day.
It's difficult to part with this paradise.
Siao liao I tell you...
It was really very picturesque in reality, the shades of blue were almost unreal.  美到离谱。
They had free jacuzzi which we didn't even have time to use.

The public washroom at the lobby.

Never check what's in the shop.

Reluctant but we finally hit the road with our first stop at the SSR Botanic Garden.
It was already noon and we were running out of time.  The more gan jiong, the more we couldn't find the giant lotus leaves.

Saw Mauritius green geeko!  It was said it's good luck to see one.

It moved away before I could take a proper pic.
Thank you Mauritius for having us!

When they saw this, they were like "You bring us here to see these arh??"  I said no but they continued to make a lot of noise (jokingly) lolxx...

We.

Na bei, finally found!  Cos there wasn't proper signage.
They "oooooooooh..." when they saw these, at least something lolxx...
Saw a baby one.

This, in perfect heart shape.

These black ducks were able to "ran" on the water, literally 水上飘, they were very fast, none of us were able to video it.
They looked as if they were dying of heat stroke.

A lonely one under the sun.

Lonely deer under the sun, the rest were inside the shelter.

Super huge roots.

Nathan's tree malnutrition waahaahaa...  The fragile shrub was up to my knee only.

Matterhorn in Mauritius.  I didn't even know it's actual name.

Short drive to Grand Baie.
Nice beach.
Saw locals scaling and cleaning fishes.

With my old man.

Crystal clear sea water.

Quick look at Notre-Dame Auxiliatrice church. It's very small like a toy house.
Nothing in particular, 陈小春 had his wedding here many years ago, that's about it.

Delivery Dodo waahaahaa....

We finally reached Port Louis, we went round and round looking for carpark.
Parked around here, walked pass the aquarium.

This suspension bridge closed on us later part of the evening.

Nice port.
The clouds were so white and fluffy.
Spend a bit of time in Waterfront Mall.

Bought a cheap bracelet.

The "umbrella street" view from the 2nd floor.

We walked down later.

By the time we reach the old markets, they were closing on us.
OCD freak, love it.
Laid back city.

Walked pass Jummah Mosque.

Saw Chinatown ahead.
All closed at 4.30pm, so sad.
But there were street arts to entertain us.
Even though all shops closed on us, we were glad to be here, at least we came to Port Louis.

Baby sis bought a compressed paper hand painted dodo bird.  All the time I thought these were ceramics!!!

Walked pass, but didn't stop to buy.  So cute the glass dodo birds.

Walking back to our car, it was sunset, the only sunset we saw in Mauritius.
Was running towards the sea to get an unobstructed view.

This was the best spot we could get.
Sunsets are god's painting, apparently Singapore isn't god's painting studio.

A bit depressing looking at my own country sometimes, no blue sky, no stars, no sun raise, no sunset, no beach, no waterfall, even the greens have a hue of gray... okay, luckily there's one Changi Airport which is almost unbeatable.  But I had promised myself not to fly for the rest of 2024 heehee...

Why I blabber so much... Back to Port Louis sunset, gorgeous.

The suspension bridge was removed, thankfully there was a FOC shuttle boat ride to cross over.

Back to LUX Le Morne.  You wouldn't believe it but this was my first experience in a resort.  I used to think resorts were a waste of money.  After 2 nights stay here, I would say.... TAKE MY MONEY!  But I need to work a bit to afford it.  2 nights stay for 2 pax including breakfast and dinner was about S$1K.  It was quite a splurge for someone like me who wouldn't spend more than S$200/night for accommodation.

Here's our 42sqm Deluxe Room with soothing beige brown color scheme.

Nice bar counter though we didn't drink.
We had 2 sinks on the vanity counter.

Bath tub with separate shower and a walk-in-wardrobe.

It was windy by the beach.

Had buffet dinner, the same place we had buffet breakfast.

A few cats were roaming about, we fed them a bit.

Made space for desserts and ice-cream.

Then we went to the bar, to drink a bit and talk talk.
Enjoyed every minute in LUX Le Morne.
Night view of the pool.
