The hotel came with breakfast but we had to walk 5mins to their sub-hotel which was very inconvenient. I totally skipped it the next day.
Porridge was creamy smooth, everything else very nice too.
There was shuttle bus to Mega Grand World but I wasn't able to figure out the exact location, so I decided to just spend money and Grab cab. About half an hour on the road, around S$8.
Mega Grand World was a color bomb. We took so much photos lolxx...
Replica Europe with the shortest flight.
Europe travelers shame this place a lot, 讲到一文不值 that kind. Coming from the original I can understand why, but nobody force them to come in the first place.
真的酷B了。
Next stop, Grab cab again, 20mins on the road to reach Bat Trang Museum.
We got off and was attracted by the pamelo trees opposite the Museum. Nobody was around, old man was scared that we might trespass someone's property. I told him if that happened, we would act apologetic and leave lor heeheehee...
Small river along...
Tomatoes still green.
A small area, got done in 10mins. Though it's free & easy, had to watch on timing before Dong Xuan Market closed on us (again).
Okay, now the main thing: Bat Trang Museum, exterior was special.
The ticket booth was slightly outside the building under the sky. Consist of a small table and a standing beach umbrella hurhurhur... So the impression was that there weren't much visitors and I was right.
Tix was slightly "complicated" divided into different sections, we just went for all-in, everything.
The building itself was very photogenic but old man somehow lost his patience and I wasn't able to make the best out of it.
Starting from the top floor was a roof top tea house and a cafe.
We had tea included in the entrance tix and that they had really nice atas looking costume rental for around S$6 or S$8 only.
The costume didn't come with a inner piece and I couldn't be wearing my Hello Kitty hoodie, I was at big risk of exposing boobs, the crews were so kind to pin the neckline up for me.
"Ao Giao Linh" is a traditional costume for royalties in ancient times. It was all flare to my advantage unlike "Ao Dai".
I was super happy, looking 100 times on photos than in reality lolxx...
Next section was Light Sculpture Art, the exhibits were amazing and mind blowing! If you only have time for one section, this will be the one.
Wood sculptures that only revealed it's art only when light is casted on them.
I only loaded a few photos here.
Light sculptures done by this artist (didn't get his name, oops).
Then pottery section, we quickly walked through, not too interested. History not as deep as China.
Leaving the museum just to realized that Grab cab was blocked in the area (don't ask me why), we could only get onto one of taxi that's waiting outside. Taking S$8 as a guide when we came, it was about same price. Fine as long as we weren't chopped.
Another 30 to 40mins on the road back to Old Quarters, and ate.
Banh Mi 25 where all tourists flocked too. I supposed it wouldn't be bad, unless the entire flocks were stupid.
It was soooooooo good soooooooo tasty around S$2, couldn't have the same song back in Singapore already. Those chain restaurants pricing between S$6 to S$8 right? Didn't even taste as good.
Yum yum yum yum, finger licking good.
Next, 2nd attempt to Dong Xuan Market waahaahaa... requested by my sir, so I couldn't fail my pay master.
He was hoping to get some summer clothes but all were autnmn/winter apparels, continue to scroll you will see.
One stall selling HUMONGEOUS oysters and river turtles, so huge they gave me goosebumps.
The wet market section was interesting to see though not buying.
Nothing for us at the dry food section.
Plushies of all sizes.
Was looking for a cabin size luggage and snow boots, 找不到。
The building structure was almost the same as the market in Da Nang.
Should had bought some winter wear, I wonder why I didn't.
Then we Grab cab to Lotte Mall, grabbed all we could at the supermarket.
Vietnamese must love Korean culture very much, they have New Year gift sets with Korean products.
Looking at their standard of living was really a fun part.
The range of fruit teas which were not available in Singapore.
We made a few rounds before we found Lipton.
It was a fruitful trip but I made a blunder thinking HaiDiLao was here, it was at another Lotte Mall urrrggg...
So the Plan B was to go Maison Sen for buffet dinner.
Devastated we were rejected as they were fully booked. But I still had Plan C.
With broken sore arms and legs, walked 800m to Obama's Bun Cha.
We were so excited, haahaahaa...
We had this Obama set for S$6. They gave us one big heap of noodles, there's lots of pork slices in the soup and the minced pork roll was in giant size.
This was even more yummy than the grilled pork, almost wanted order another one.
It was so juicy and fulfilling.
Must do what a tourist should do!
We walked again, another 800m after dinner to Uniqlo.
I gotten a pair of shorts and t-shirt which I wore immediately, I had been feeling too warm throughout the day in my Hello Kitty.
Muaaahaaahaaa... fats under Mickey Vietnam.
Not hungry, but had to try Vietnam's Mcdonald's.
Nuggets tasted totally different from what we knew, looked like cheese tofu, tasted like chicken flavored fish balls. We were like.....??!!??
Did I have too much Hoan Kiem night photos?
One of the nice activity around the lake.
Looking back, I couldn't believe we walked over 2km back to the hotel.
We turned on the TV for soccer.
While you are reading this, I am currently on a bored till beyond job. So I tagged my laptop with me and I guess I am able to blog real fast lolxx...
Moving onto the next day was my solo trip to Halong Bay while old man took his morning flight back to Singapore. He prefers short trips while me being the opposite. Yes 7 days is too short for me, anything less is a waste of air tix and time to me.
The solo Halong Bay trip was a big block off the budget, but I had a great time.
