Chongqing China 9D8N - Day 2

All fresh setting out early.

Main entrance of Airbnb looked like this.

I planned to go into a nice cafe in Raffles City for breakfast, failed.  The cafe that I wanted to visit was either closed, or we just couldn't find it.

Anyway, we took some nice pics at 9am morning.

We were at 朝天门 which wasn't planned, cos I didn't know it was just outside Raffles City Building.  We had nothing to do, loitering around while waiting for the mall to be fully open at 10am.

Shitting in Chongqing.  By the way the toilets in the mall are cleaner than Singapore's mall, happy pee pee and poo poo.

I gave up looking for atas cafe, ended in a food court.

Had Luckin.

Wanted Nezuko but was given the "pig", never mind lolxx...

We shared this chicken & egg crepe + corn porridge for S$2 only.

Ok, I actually had a pic of their atas toilet.

Didi to MiXue flag store, it was so near yet so far, on map was 1km+, but need to drive one round to get into the highway across the river, so became 3km lolxx...

Blur blur anyhow gave the wrong location, but good thing was we were not far.

So becos of the mistake, we had to walk to the flag store and accidentally found found 百岁坊.

德堂 historical church, didn't look old enough, so didn't check on it's history.

We reached MiXue flag store from the back haahaahaa...

Not too crowded at around 11am.

Everything was cheap, we were like sweeping the shelves.

There were only a few cashiers, about 10mins in the queue and we were done with payment.

Felt like victory haahaahaa...

I waited at their lounge while old man went to buy some drinks and ice-cream, we couldn't just leave without.

This was only part of our purchase, we spend about S$65 in total.

The giant paper bag was really pretty and colorful.  We kept one and gave away another one.

Walked around the area, trying to find a famous hotpot, failed anyway.

Weirdly empty and quiet here.

Was busy taking photo with this Labubu when the water fountain suddenly sprout water from the ground, I was only a few inches away.

I was laughing so hard for my "narrow escape" lolxx...

Next was to get back to our Airbnb to unload our MiXue stuffs.

Foggy (雾都).

After unloading, we went to try out Chongqing noodles at this famous stall which was diagonally across our place.

No crowd at weird hour.

Mixed the chick peas, minced meat, veg and all the chilli with the springy noodle, quite delicious, but wouldn't recommend to make a special trip to try.  There should be many places selling the same with more or less the same taste.

After late lunch was 5mins walk to 洪崖洞.

Nobody actually mentioned, but the majestic building was beautiful even during day time.

It's much more easier to take photos during the day.

But I didn't find it particularly special.

We walked around inside 洪崖洞 and it was interesting enough.  Bought a packet of tea leaves cigarettes, it was bitter like life.

No nicotine, maybe a small amount of caffeine from the tea leaves, so totally no kick for me.

Bought mini dumplings, tasted ok, thin skin, generous minced meat fillings, too much chilli peppers.

 

It was rainy, the floor was wet with puddles, threatening my precious S$210 white shoes.

Amused by the wall design created using mahjong tiles.

Regretted didn't try.

After a bit of exploring, time was just nice for my photoshoot appointment at around 6pm.

The process was a great experience, make-up was done very differently.  The make-up artist was very gentle and sweet, even helped to adjust my phone's angle for me to take photos of the process.

The makeup was "scary" looking in reality cos it's meant for the camera (camera/videos all "eats" up makeup and have to be very very heavy and exaggerating).

This lip clay/mud, the texture is truly velvet, matt but not drying, I am very very so extremely impressed.  The next day I went Raffles City and bought 2.

Halloween lolxx...

Piling up my head, it was heavy.

Taking shape after more than an hour 开始呈现造型.

The final look after 1.5hrs.

比妖精还美。

The extravagant outfit with super big head gear made numerous heads turned.  Especially those doing RMB299 packages haahaahaa... Why I knew?  Cos they were talking loud enough for me to hear.

老娘艳压全场 (even though old + fat + short in person), I shiok until 内伤.

Didn't know I had to stand on a stool, I was scared that I might slipped.

I was really stiff, kinda worried I failed myself with the poses then my money would gone to the drain.

The overall was about 4hrs (old man so poor thing to wait so long), would be shorter if not for waiting for the photographer for 20mins.

 In total cost about S$230 with extra edited photos (I forgotten how much was the basic package, I just went with the most expensive).  A social media friend went with a normal RMB299 package and the difference was very obvious.  To each's own, but after seeing her photos, I am more than glad that I didn't hold back this splurge.

Was 10.30pm, 洪崖洞 was still crowded with all the food stalls opened.

We bought a bit of everything and was so full at the end.

Prawn paste mushrooms.

In front Mala tofu, behind was a pyramid of charcoal tofu.  Regretted not trying, haiz... stomach running out of space.

Fried pork belly, was difficult to judge from the look whether it's tender enough or not, so gave this a miss.

Muslim stall - mutton skewers!!!

The food street in 洪崖洞 wasn't recommended by the locals in 小红书。It's probably not the cheapest or the best, but old man and I find it nice enough for tourists like us.

There was actually a disposable plastic cup that fitted nicely inside the cute metal cup, so after finishing the ice-cream just throw it away the disposal cup, the metal cup was clean and good for keeping.

As cute as it looked, the taste was very average, still worth it cos the cup was just too super cute.

Mountain people mountain sea at 11pm.

The lights were just brilliant.

The next day was fun filled at various locations: 罗汉寺，解放碑，山城步道，十八梯，来福士.

We are madly in love with Chongqing.
