Prologue:
Unexpected trip to Chongqing, I thought Sydney was my last trip till BigBang concert comes again next year.
Old man initiated, it's in his bucket list and at the same thing it's his way of coaxing me, kinda reconcile trip after our horrible cold war of 4 months. He knew that I preferred not to go with tour agencies if possible, so he let me did the planning while I promised it would be cheaper and kept within budget. Tour agencies are for the rich nowadays. He paid for everything else it wasn't possible for my depreciating bank account. 9 days was too short for my liking, the city was amazing, we actually planned to revisit next year!
Excitement of a trip started with air tix hunting.
While we preferred SQ, their timing wasn't favorable (only red eye flights I think). China Southern Airlines A320 with old configuration looked horrible, their business class was equivalent/worst than premium economy. However I went ahead with it for their good timing. Was sold out at Trip dot com, managed to get the air tix in their official website, booked on 23 Sep. Dread or brag we were flying with it.
The Chongqing city airbnb I found had super duper amazing view that I couldn't resist. The only thing was getting the keys was always an issue. I kena at both Mauritius and Sydney. I mentally prepared old man for it.
Only after booking camp accommodation at Wulong, then I read so much bad (slit throats) reviews on transport in the area, oh noooooooooooo...
As such, there were lots of uncertain but being light hearted was all it takes.
Also for once, Google map and Youtrip card doesn't work. For this trip I downloaded, AliPay, WeChat, 高德 and 小红书.
9D8N excluding shopping was about S$3k for the 2 of us.

Noon flight at T1. We paid additional S$128 for the front row.
Airport OOTD.
POWER cap + UBERMENSCH scarf + plain white-T stolen from Luis + flare dark blue denim + Adidas slippers.
No flight entertainment, old man had downloaded a movie or 2 for himself.
We had 3 seats but unfortunately the hand rest was fixed.
The photos looked as if I was on a lousy biz class.
Chicken + potatoes.
Fried fish slices + prawns + rice.
Slept a bit.
Sunset + half moon.
Reached Jiang Bei International Airport safely.
We were surprised and impressed by the service: Luggage carts were lined at the belt;
All luggage had their wheels facing up to avoid damage.
Pick-up was arranged with Trip for about S$18. The driver was very unhappy when I wanted to pick up a souvenir in the airport (at the end didn't get, it was for locals only). Never mind about his black face, we arrived at our Airbnb located in 东和湾. The location was cool, it's 5mins walk to 洪崖洞.
Was about 8pm, we had dinner at a random eatery across the street.
Everybody was in thick clothing, only the 2 of us in t-shirts lolxx...
We had mapo tofu, a bit saltish but ok with rice.
We pork ribs which was crazy delicious. Meat was tender and juicy, slight numbing and spicy, love the crunchy green chilli, wished they added more.
无敌好吃。
There were some mobile vendors outside our building.
I bought the pudding to try, I liked the sides more than the pudding. The texture a bit sandy, so not our liking.
We finally escaped from Singapore's heat.

The corridor looked like a horror movie scene.
But the interior was actually ok.
Projector screen.
Queen bed + small fridge.
Another queen bed in a smaller room.
Only one toilet, very basic.
This was booked through Booking dot com, 3 nights stay was about S$200. The area was about 50sqm very spacious, very empty looking also as there weren't much furniture. The good things were the beds were actually very comfy, the location was conveniently kiap between 洪崖洞 and 来福士. Lack of working means I had to play with my laptop on bed.
I booked the photoshoot at midnight before going sleep haahaahaa...
The next day was very exciting to 朝天门，来福士，百岁坊，弹子石蜜雪冰城，长嘉汇，洪崖洞 and also the photoshoot. It was crazy! It was easy to fall in love with Chongqing.
