Chongqing China 9D8N - Day 3

 04/11/2025

Old man's early body clock, so he bought me breakfast.

鸳鸯锅, the brown and green waters separated by nature could be clearly seen from the window.
Somehow not obvious in photo.

There was a nice city view at the ground floor of our building which nobody bothered.

The neighborhood looked like this across the street.

The weather was sunny and cool.

We arrived at 罗汉寺 after a 5 or 10mins drive with Didi or random ferrari (couldn't remember).
The ancient temple was in the middle of shopping malls and tall buildings.

Entrance tix RMB20, came with a rose candle and 3 joss sticks for praying.

They had big stamp chops for visitors and free tea.

The locals considered taking photos of the statues rude, so we didn't take any photos of the halls for praying.
We had photos of the corridors and architectural which was crazy stunning.  LuoHan Temple with a deep history since 1064 which was the main reason why we visited. It was then I realized this temple was famous for granting fortune and love/marriage.

I prayed for a job, in less than a month I considered my wish was granted. I am now working in a club house should be able to sustain and live "normally".

The hand fan was the best prop ever, and it was only RMB5 from HongYaDong.
There were so much details in the temple, every tile, every panel, every beam is art.

There was a cafe in the temple lolxx... kinda out of place.
Commercialized, not cheap but very aesthetic, we took so much photos.

8mins walk to 解放碑.  The War Victory Monument was 24m height, since 1941.
Brief stay for photo taking, I wanted to check out the shopping malls around it so badly, but we were really hungry.

Moving on to a hotpot restaurant I found in 小红书.

I believe good food was plenty in this area as the delivery riders were gathering here waiting for orders.

Reached after about 10mins walk.
The restaurant front looked so cute.

Interior looked cute too but not too comfortable.
The cane chairs were hard to sit, also difficult to move on the pebbles.  The pebbles not nice to walk on.  I couldn't move at ease.
We should had try the fried rice.

Fried items were prepared on this low stove in an open area near the entrance.

Look at the price!!!

Milk duck blood pudding heehee...  Very smooth and nice!

Thick and tender beef slices, this was soooooooo good and satisfying.

They had cute desserts here, I wished I could order everything.

Full to brim, bill was RMB204 = S$37.40.

Took some photos with the fake roof top outside the restaurant.
Was holding ice-lemon tea.
Act cute.

Took Didi to old folks home, so that our route would be a down hill at 山城, taught by 小红书.
The residential area looked like Hong Kong.

Starting from the end point was a narrow path with old walls at both sides.

I wonder how the local residents felt to live inside a tourist area.

From the look of the map, I think we didn't cover everything, we walked on straight path all the way down.

来都来了😂

Too cute and too funny to resist, I bought this mosquito plushie back haahaahaa...
I was so happy with it, haahaahaa...

I had no idea about the history of this underground area.

There was a viewing deck in this area, and this was the view.
Gloomy day but still looking good.

One of the resident cat.

Surprised to see nice manhole like Japan.

More cats to fondle with, but they were so aloof haahaahaa...

I gotten emo at "物换星移,我心依旧", I quickly picked myself up and moved on...
This small building used to be a school, now a nostalgia photo spot for tourists.

Cat in one of the shops, it's a one year old baby, it refused to look at me lolxx...

There was a sudden crowd of students on excursion, the small lane was totally flooded haahaahaa...

We had to run into a cafe for refugee literally.
It was a good thing for our legs.
Not caffeine but some detox/digestive flower tea.

Then I took a lot of selfies, heehee...
Me at 53yo, photos heavily filtered though, cos I aged so much compared to Jul.
It's only a few months, heart-breaks destroyed my looks a lot.

After the students disappeared, we moved on, but sort of blindly.

Romantic words here and there...

Who the hell stood so close to me??
Such view was everywhere for free.

Leaving 山城 to 十八梯 with unavoidable stairs.

Walking in the city under cool weather was so enjoyable, it was as if we were in a movie scene.

十八梯 but didn't see any staircase around.   We randomly took some photos.

We did absolutely nothing here except for beer.

It's not as unhealthy as it seemed, tea leave cigarettes + fruit beer (so gooooooood!).

Bought one to try, forgotten what it was called, it had a tinge of vinegar taste and I didn't like it.

Bought tibits here.
We finished 十八梯 at it's entrance lolxx...

Finally saw staircase which I didn't want to climb too many.

Where did all the cats went at night?  Didn't see any of them.

Took cab to Raffles City cos I wanted to try the braised trotter, sadly it was sold out when we reached.

Night view at 朝天门 was gorgeous!!

A few shops from sold out trotter was this chicken soup eatery.

They provide free flow preserved veg (delicious but I didn't take pic) and hot tea which was so warming in this cool weather.
We ordered dumplings with super flavorful chicken soup to share, full liao.

Then we tried to walk back to our accommodation, took us a long time and many stairs to get back lolxx...
Finally back and this was the view from our window, the night lights were amazing.

The next day, our Day 4, we headed up to Wulong (武隆).  The temperature was 10 degrees lower than Chongqing city and we made the best out of it.
