We had a 9am train to catch.
Last look at Wulong Fairy Mountain Camping Ground (重庆武隆仙女山露营基地逸宿太空舱酒店). Although it may not be the most convenient place (about 5 to 8 mins drive away from the Tourist Center), it's unique cabin gave us a new experience, totally recommendable if you are coming to Wulong.
Not long ago, a friend asked if Wulong is recommended. It actually depends if you are a nature lover and how many natural sites you have experienced. Coming from a person who had seen 张家界 and spectacular scenery in Switzerland and Indonesia, it's not impressive. But if you are an Urban babe with not much exposure with 高山流水, it's enjoyable with fresh air and golden Gingko trees was a great bonus if you come at the right season.
Descending Wulong mountain, we drove passed sea clouds.
Here we were again at Wulong train station, making our way back to the city Chongqing.
传说中的绿皮车。
First Class seats with 2-2 configuration, about S$33/pax.
Old man requested for massage, last min. So during our 1hr50mins train ride, I found a spa near Chongqing North train station.
I was in a mess, tired and hungry.
With one small cabin luggage, we easily took one train stop to LongTouSi Park Station (龙头寺公园).
We exited and found ourselves in the middle of an open carpark haahaahaa...
There was a cute mobile (maybe not mobile) nail and lash salon but it was not opened.
Golden Impression 金色印, our first visit.
The entrance was dark and quiet, we thought it was closed or abandon.
Moving up was an unforgettable pampering experience ever!
We paid RMB317/pax, given this private room with private bathroom and a-la-carte buffet including drinks. Also of course, 90mins foot, head, shoulder and back massage. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, holy cow...
Golden Impression, golden experience why Singapore don't have??!!
Our massive lunch! We were full to the brim and they kept asking us to order more waahaahaa...
They also gave half a dozen of drinks which we took 2 or 3 with us, too heavy to carry.
Free-flow food and drinks and the foot massage was not bad, I think we both snored a bit.
Our private washroom with shower.
We booked with the same host but a different room.
This had 2 big bedrooms good for 4 pax. Actually the place was huge enough (about 65sqm) for another bed and could house 6pax.
Location 东和湾, was about S$250 for 3 nights. The river view was splendid, would be perfect if there's a working desk.
Only one washroom, basic but clean.
Selfie while waiting for a cab, going to 鸿恩寺 (Hong En Temple). Took about half an hour to get a Didi cab.
It was a long wait, we could only watch the traffic.
We saw this "parcel bike", too cute.
Finally on the road, took another 30mins.
After a lot of research, this was the shortest (890m) and flat route to 鸿恩寺.
This was not a popular attraction, I somehow chanced upon it, information was limited. Usual tours wouldn't include this place cos it was out of the way.
Slowly walked through the park.
My grandfather's road.
Unavoidable flight of stairs to the temple.
It turned dark very quickly. I kinda screwed up, the photos didn't turn out too well.
Everybody was waiting for the magic moment of the light up at 8pm. However there was no announcement, the light up was round 8.10pm or so. Good for those who turned on their video from 8pm. Anyway, the temple was lighted up like a switch without graduation, very disappointed.
Nevertheless, this was it.
There obviously a big crowd of people taking photos, this idiot walked right in. Idiots and cockroaches should be extinct, really.
I purposely moved to the back to show you guys the crowd taking photos of the temple.
10mins walk from the temple to this place called 渝味360碗 for 打铁花 performance.
The flights of stairs just reminded us that we were in Chongqing.
Very misleading, we thought there was a food street.
90% of the stalls were closed, what's going on???
We had no choice but to settle in a quiet restaurant, that's the one and only restaurant.
Roast duck, no good.
Tofu okay.
I don't eat cauliflower, but these were DELICIOUS!!
Pork belly, not nice.
All for around S$12.
This was the performance area. There wasn't a proper system, we had to ask around.
A young lady came to ask and offer VIP seats instead of standing with the crowd, we happily took it for RMB30, not regrets totally worth it!
Creating fireworks on ground using lava hot iron liquid, there's no English translation for this term, I hope my explanation is correct. I only saw this on China drama.
With VIP seats, we didn't have to rub shoulders with the crowd. We were seated so close and there were no obstructions. Initially I was worried that we might get burnt by the little sparks. But we were all good without a hole.
I was screaming, took some videos and photos, then quickly kept my phone and enjoyed the performance with my eyes.
I almost cried cos it was sooooooooo beautiful.
The performance was free to watch in a standing area. The RMB30 VIP seat exceeded the value. They should be earning big bucks if they put in more thoughts to organize the place. Myself would be willing to pay RMB300 for a VIP seat on a cushion arm chair with light refreshment. They could even do a dinner + VIP seat package.
The performance was an eye opening experience as this was pass down from ancient with great history just like 变脸. But they really need to improve on service, accessibility so that more people could witness the performance.
After the performance was a long wait for Didi cab in the rain and a massive traffic jam towards HongYaDong. However, we love the jam so that we could enjoy the magnificent view longer.
美到不行 no matter how many times we looked at it.
My travel blog posts are very back dated, cos my previous job sucked my life and time away. After this Chongqing trip I worked a few jobs, didn't earn as much as I hoped for. I am still working now with an unstable income. Up coming I have a short vacation to Batam with family in Aug and finally will be visiting China again in Oct. Was wanting to go back to Chongqing but ended up full trip to Chengdu. Then I have to stretch my money to BigBang concert trips, hopefully in Japan.
I hope to complete Chongqing posts else back lots are really crushing.
