Hubby and I was on our way to a coffee shop near East Point Mall for chicken rice when we saw the advertisement poster of Penang Street on a pillar.
We got very excited, having in mind that it's something like Malaysia Boleh at Jurong Point.
But.........
Penang Street turned out to be a cafeteria.
We wanted a economical lunch leh, but I find the tiffany blue theme difficult to resist, 注定要花钱了. We can be really richer if we can control a little on food.... lolxx....

Our order slip came, Chendol was auspiciously translated to "LOTS OF MONEY" in chinese lolxxx... Me like it $$$$$$
Fried Kuay Teow S$8.80
Penang Street is halal so there's no chinese sausages or lard. It's less oily without sacrificing good taste. One lady opposite our table, probably a regular simply ordered this without looking at the menu.
Nasi Lemak S$9.80
It came in a delightful presentation.
Chicken is marinated with some malay spices, quite flavourful and juicy though may not be the best.
Kangkong with Cuttlefish S$7.80
Love the peanut sauce and the generous portion.
Chendol S$5.80
Instead of plain ice, sweetened shoved ice was used. Not bad.
I felt that the dishes were rather Singapore than Penang. There were negative reviews on their FB, perhaps we were lucky or, from a more positive view, they probably had improved. Frankly speaking, we enjoyed our lunch very much surrounded by tiffany blue. Although it's nothing atas, but I felt quite romantic ^.^
