East Java/South Bali 14 days Day 10

27/05/2025

Morning shine.
This was how the locals start their day with floral offerings and incense.

Went to a money changer.  I watched every step closely so as not to get scammed.  The lady told me to go for money changers with "PT" in front, authorized by their government.

At Pukako Panini & Coffee again for complimentary breakfast.
Looking pretty with fatness here.
Had french toast, considered small portion for a normal adult, but just nice for me.

This day spend a lot of money on taxi.  While waiting for Grab taxi, found a fur buddy having the same problem as me - overweight.
Why is it that pets are so cute when chubby, then human will be despised?

The driver told me, this was Bali without tourists:
It was a beautiful journey.

After more than an 1hrs' drive, finally reached Jatiluwih Rice Terrace, another UNESCO Heritage site.
This place is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!  I have to say this is my best attraction in Bali.   It deserves more crowd to witness it's beauty, yet on the other hand I selfishly wish it remain it's tranquility.  Good thing that this blog won't reach much people...  awwww... this place...
Totally underestimated this place, should had spend the entire day here.  I had about 2.5hrs here, not enough to do a proper hike.  If I am to visit Bali again, this will be the first place to come again.
Following would be my "scratch surface only" photos:

Various routes which I took none, soooooooooo sad.
Rice has been our staple all our life, but for the first time, I looked at it's raw form.
It's super duper beautiful here.

My driver was really good, told him I wanted babi guling.
He brought me to this local eatery.  It's empty cos it was already 2pm.  There were 2 couples eating at the right corner not inside this frame.
Was S$2.60 for all, I later topped up another S$1 for extra crispy skin.  After the quick lunch hit the road again.

It was supposed to be dry season, but it was raining again.

The rain stopped for me when I reached Ulun Danu Beratan Temple (UNESCO Historical site).
I am, really, very fortunate, love seeing and feeling every UNESCO sites.

I think I have mention numerous times that I am treating every trip (since after Covid) like my last.  I don't know how fast will my arthritis deteriorate, my current jobless situation is not optimistic either.  Not able to make it to BigBang's concert in 2026 can be the possible worst scenario...

So beside air, water, a bit of food and medicine, I am living on memories, literally...

The temperature dipped after rain and it was so comfortable.

Along Lake Beratan.
The actual situation was funny and awkward with a few local students staring hard at me while I was adjusting the selfie stand and taking the photos.

This photo was taken by me for real, it's not a painted picture omg...

So gorgeous, it looked unreal, but I was there, looking at it with my own eyes...

17th century Ulun Danu Beratan Temple. The roofs kinda reminded me of Shirakawago. Didn't ask anybody, use selfie stand with blue tooth to frame myself.

Me and GD's daisy.
During the trip, my friend and Luis camped for GD's concert tix in KL and Taiwan.  We lost to scalpers, so were many other sad FAMs.   认真和真心的人,最后都哭得最惨...
Spend about 2hrs here, and wasn't able to avoid the traffic peak, but it wasn't that bad.

Last night at Ubud's resort.  They folded a bear for me, it would only be nice to leave a tip before I go.

Lepak for a while at the porch.
I know vape is illegal in Singapore, too much drugs.  I was killing myself...

The night was chilly but I went out wearing shorts, on Grab bike some lolxx...

It was a 15mins ride from my resort to Warung Kayana for pork ribs.

The bike stopped in front of the grill haahaahaa...

Had ribs IDR60,000 and a fried rice over loaded with msg IDR30,000.
The ribs were very flavorful, juicy and tender, totally worth freezing my thighs on the bike ride haahaahaa...

This local restaurant had a few tourists and apparently popular with locals too.

Grab bike took a while to pick me up, back to the resort and I went to aircon massage parlor just a stone throw away.
S$10/hr foot massage was actually good, so good...

Next day, I moved out of Ubud to Kuta which was near the airport.
