8 days in Sydney Day 5

05/07/2025

Good weather, the storm was completely over.
Embraced the beautiful mild winter, Singapore's all year summer gives me heat rash.
Shoots outside the boutique hotel, I almost had the whole path by myself.

It was a mistake to take a long walk (about 1km) to the bus, but again I gotten to explore the quiet town.

Walked pass a fire station in red bricks.

Walked pass their St John's church with a wedding going on.

Another old building - St Vincent's Hospital.

Finally the bus stop, could easily missed it as there was only a indicative pole haahaahaa...

Successfully boarded the bus but alight too early, goodness.

Waited forever for the next bus and finally reached the Fish Market where I finally could follow the crowd brainlessly.

Had to walk through a open car park.

There was a random King Fisher in the car park, not sure how did it end up here.
Pic taken from very far, nobody dare to get close.

This was tempting but I wanted something massive lolxx..

It was very crowded, difficult to find seats unless you chose to sit inside a restaurant.

Actually, not very cheap.

Out door seatings with sea view and seagulls threaten to steal a bite.
It was very cold, I decided inside would be more comfortable.

Appetizing looking.

It was difficult to make a choice, settled lunch here.

The crew wasn't friendly and I made a mistake ordering too much grilled octopus.
As a result, this meal was over S$80.

Took a light rail to Chinatown which was only a few stops.

Pity that I was too full already.

Souvenirs here were much cheaper compared to Circular Quay area.
Didn't want to spend un-necessarily so just see look only.

Everything was cheaper except for Hello Kitty, haiz... as much as I liked, couldn't bring myself to splurge.
Walked aimlessly, there were lots of China eateries, suddenly in China not Australia haahaahaa...

Amazing life like painting on building.

There were 2 light rail stations in Chinatown.

Had too much time to kill, went into this building called Market City to find somewhere and sit.

Found food court inside.

Had coffee and lepak in the food court.

Lepak till so shiok and suddenly found out sunset was really early in winter.

Transit at Central Station, I rushed down to Darling Harbour.

It was still bright when I reached the nearest station.

Didn't get the best view of sunset.

Darling Harbour was lined with a row of fine looking restaurants which made me regret my expensive lunch at the Fish Market.
Already burst and exploded my budget, I decided to skip dinner.

Went for a foot massage nearby, it wasn't the cheapest, about S$60.
The hot foot soak itself was life saving.

The masseur was from China.  She was divorced and brought her daughter with her to Sydney 30 years ago.  I told her I was in a bad situation and hoping for a divorce.  She told me try to salvage...

I remembered I felt so broken but crying in Sydney was better than crying at home.

Back to Darling Harbour after the foot spa, was trying to find the best spot for fireworks.

Found crowd gathered at Cockle Bay Wharf, so I knew this must be the spot.

Felt colder cos it was windy by the bay.

Fireworks started at 8.30pm.

After the fireworks wait a while for the crowd to disperse.  Had no energy to walk back to the train station, tried to hail a taxi from a hotel lobby but the driver was trying to rip me off.  So booked from Uber, took quite a while, but I was back to the hotel safely with the standard price.

Went to the supermarket, bought milk and a avocado dip to go with the bread I bought a few days back.
Cost saving and lovely supper.

The next day was an early morning, I bought a tix from KLOOK for whale watching, puked like hell, then went to The Rocks Markets, it was super enjoyable.

While you are reading this, I am almost done with packing up, can't believe I am flying off (again) in a week's time.
